The Regional Film Archive hosted the Friday night performance which for the first time allowed a unique live performance that brought together film and music related to flamenco art.

Hundreds of people filling the venue were able to enjoy a selection of the best sequences in film history related to flamenco, and at the same time vibrate with the rhythms and melodies played by base-player Pepe Bao, last year’s winner of the “Filón” prize for best instrumentalist at the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas, accompanied by his group.

The event, which was attended by the General Directors for Cultural Industries and Arts, Juan Antonio Lorca, and Cultural Heritage, Francisco Giménez and our Mayor and Executive Chairman of the Cante de las Minas Foundation, Francisco Bernabé, turned into an emotional tribute to the great Paco de Lucía who died two days earlier, and to whom the Mayor resolved during the presentation to dedicate the event.
